Self Employment

Our Self-Employment program educates young adults with autism about entrepreneurship and self-employment as one possible avenue for employment.  During our six week program, we teach young adults all aspects of starting a business – from “Blue Sky” thinking incorporating their interests and hobbies to understanding a basic business plan, the 5 P’s of marketing, and how to make money from their business.  Our unique curriculum allows young adults to reach for the stars and be creative!  To support the entrepreneurial discovery process, we offer business tours, guest speakers, and entrepreneurial coaching.  Our program culminates in an optional shark tank pitch to local business partners, and the opportunity to receive start-up funding and ongoing support for their venture.

To date, we have funded a T-shirt business, DJ business, and a Tutu business!  Our last shark tank was held on August 10th and was a huge success!  Click on the videos or visit our Youtube page below to see young adults pitch their business.
