Ability Beyond, the parent company of Roses for Autism, conducted is third annual Pitch Panel event on October 27th at their offices in Bristol. Featured here is Paul Starybrat and Tychelle Forman, presenting her bath salts to WTNH Channel 8.
Many people dream of being on ABC’s hit series Shark Tank, and Ability Beyond made that dream come true right here in Connecticut for a group of ambitious young adults with Autism. As part of Transition Services, the organization offers a self employment curriculum which allows participants to explore the idea of becoming an entrepreneur while incorporating their interests and hobbies. As part of a grant from Autism Speaks, the organization supported 15 young adults with disabilities from ages 16-25. A total of 10 participated in the panel; poposals included a Therapeutic Putty, Trail Mix, Meditation CD’s, Bath Salts, and a Photography business. These entrepreneurs received funding and support to further pursue their business ventures.
Panel members included Rob Fuoco from the nonprofit Sharing Nature, Joanna Rapoza, Writer & Stand up Comic, Anthony Pierlioni from Streetsmart Ventures, and Caitline Wheeler from Caitlin Wheeler Enterprises.
